Breweries have been all the rage ever since the beer laws in Georgia changed back in 2017 allowing breweries to sell beer directly to their consumers without strict limitations. Before the bill passed, breweries had to sell tickets for tasting tours and customers couldn’t simply come in to grab a beer and casually hang out with friends. Non-profit event at Three Taverns Brewery

Three Taverns Brewery is located in Decatur, just a short drive from the city. Officially opened in 2013, but founder and owner Brian Purcell, had the idea of a brewery softly embedded in his mind since his first visit to Belgium in 1994. In 2005, he used an at-home brew kit for the first time and instantly something clicked, he knew that brewing was meant for him. After years of planning, brewing and another trip to Belgium, Three Taverns was open to the public.

Three Taverns is a large brewery with two rooms available for private events. In the Parlour room, guests are momentarily transported to an old-world setting while surrounded by weathered wood planks, beams from a 100-year-old barn, wrought iron fixtures and intricate brickwork. The Barrel Room is where all the beer magic happens. It is located in the production warehouse in the back of the brewery among stainless steel fermenters, the brewing system and barrel aging beers. Besides the intricate details indoors they also have a beautiful outdoor patio with picnic tables and corn hole. This brewery really does have it all. They have a variety of beers on tap some including: La Madrina, a black currant, pink guava and Mediterranean Sea salt sour ale, Prince of Pilsen, a hoppy pilsner and Lord Grey, an earl grey sour ale. The flavors will definitely push you out of your comfort zone, but it is undeniably an experience worth your while. Three Taverns is a true industrial setting for any socializer looking for a trendy, yet uncommon brewery feel.
