Breweries have been all the rage ever since the beer laws in Georgia changed back in 2017 allowing breweries to sell beer directly to their consumers without strict limitations. Before the bill passed, breweries had to sell tickets for tasting tours and customers couldn’t simply come in to grab a beer and casually hang out with friends. With the new laws comes new breweries springing up all around the Atlanta area making them the new hot spots to spend weekends and to host events.
In this series, we will be highlighting some Metro Atlanta breweries and diving deeper into what makes them so special. Breweries have become more than just a place to drink beer and watch sporting events, they have now turned into the trendy places to host weddings, birthdays, corporate meetings and happy hours, fundraisers and so much more!
With so many options, it can be overwhelming to decide which brewery is the perfect fit for you, your schedule or your future event. Each brewery has a totally different feel, while some are dog friendly, others are more family focused and some are better suited for a younger crowd. Luckily, we are here to break down what makes each brewery special, making your decision that much easier.
So, whether you are on the lookout for an event venue, new to the Atlanta area, visiting a friend, or just want to stray away from your typical bar scene this series will help guide you through some of the best breweries around the city of Atlanta. Next in the series, we have: Wild Heaven Avondale.

Wild Heaven Beer has two locations, one in Avondale and the other in West End. Wild Heaven Beer was founded in 2010 by lifelong Georgians Nick Purdy and Eric Johnson. Their goal was to design European brews but with a creative American flair. Their motto “Serve your neighbor” is an important part of their business model and they are always looking for ways to help out their neighboring communities. They are currently partnering with Atlanta’s Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to contribute to the movement of ending issues of racial injustice in our country.
The Avondale Estates location was opened first in 2014. This location has stainless steel fermenters, soft glowing Edison lights, wood barrels and warm-toned wood walls that make for a beautiful backdrop at events. It is the epitome of industrial chic with a homey, warm atmosphere. Guests at this location also have access to The Grove, which is an outside patio complete with trees, shrubbery and a shipping container that has been transformed into a bar. Some of Wild Heaven’s beers include: Emergency Drinking Beer, a citrus flavored pils-style session Ale, ATL Easy Ale, a lightly hopped, unbitter pale ale and Wise Blood IPA, an India Pale Ale with tropical fruit flavors and hints of apricot, melon and orange.

The Event Space
Wild Heaven Avondale is a beautiful venue filled with tons of natural light. There are two spaces available to rent, The Tasting Room and The Grove. The brewery can hold up to 300 people, with the use of both spaces and can hold up to 150 in the indoor space alone. Semi-private events are also available for smaller events and can hold up to 50 people. Besides the size of the space, here are some more details on what makes Wild Heaven Avondale so special:
